Connecting with FileZilla

Connecting to your euHost hosting account using FileZilla is a straightforward process. FileZilla, a popular FTP (File Transfer Protocol) client, is an excellent tool for transferring files securely between your local computer and your hosting server. In this guide, we'll walk you through the steps to establish a connection using FileZilla, as well as how to find and manage your FTP credentials in the Plesk Panel.

Finding Your FTP Credentials in Plesk Panel

To connect to your hosting account, you'll need your FTP credentials. These can be found in your Plesk Panel. Log into your Plesk account and navigate to the 'Websites & Domains' section. Here, you'll find the FTP Access option. This section displays your FTP username, and you can also set or reset your FTP password here.

Creating a New FTP Account

If you need to create a new FTP account – perhaps for a specific project or team member – Plesk makes it easy. In the same FTP Access section, you can add new FTP accounts. Specify the username, set a strong password, and define the directory this account can access. This feature is particularly useful for granting access to parts of your hosting environment without sharing your primary FTP credentials.

Setting Up FileZilla

Once you have your FTP credentials, open FileZilla and go to 'File' > 'Site Manager'. Click on 'New Site' and input your hosting server's details. You'll need to enter the host (often your domain name or IP address provided by euHost), the port (usually 21 for FTP), and the protocol (FTP or SFTP for encrypted connections). Then, enter the FTP username and password you obtained from Plesk.

Establishing the Connection

After entering your details, click on 'Connect'. FileZilla will attempt to establish a connection to your hosting server. If all goes well, you'll see your local files on the left side of the FileZilla window and your hosting account's files on the right side. You can now drag and drop files between your computer and your hosting server.

Troubleshooting Tips

If you encounter issues while connecting, double-check your credentials and host details. Ensure that your internet connection is stable and that your firewall or antivirus isn’t blocking FileZilla. If problems persist, don’t hesitate to reach out to the euHost support team for assistance.
